IN PROGRESS
37,000 SQFT
SECO is completing the mechanical and plumbing scopes for the Springfield Art Museum Renovation and Expansion in Springfield, Missouri. Phase 1 of the project included approximately 26,000 square feet of renovation to the existing museum and 11,000 square feet of new construction, with additions located at the loading dock and southeast portions of the building. Renovation areas included existing galleries, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and the auditorium, which was modified to include a flat floor surface. Site improvements were also part of the scope, including ADA-compliant entry upgrades, sidewalk extensions, revised loading dock access, screen walls, landscaping, and new site signage.
SECO provided and installed the HVAC and plumbing systems throughout the renovated and newly constructed areas. The mechanical scope included general HVAC systems serving gallery and public spaces, as well as back-of-house support areas. The plumbing scope included both domestic water and sanitary systems, coordinated with architectural and structural upgrades. SECO’s work supported the museum’s modernization goals while maintaining the integrity of the existing structure.
